This exceptional image was shot by Phil Knott as part of the photoshoot for A$AP Rocky's iconic debut album Long.Live.A$AP. Phil Knott was recently featured in Sotheby's first ever hip-hop auction, where another image from this set was auctioned off in September 2020.
Photographed November 25th, 2012 in New York City.
Phil Knott on photographing A$AP Rocky: "What struck me on shooting A$AP was that everybody in his crew was doing something - ie filming, etc - and they were all really on point. He was super polite and easy to work with, no complaints. We shot up in Harlem around spots that meant something to Rocky, not a random location. I didn't realize how iconic this day would be. I knew Rocky had something special about him, an aura of confidence."
